Don't Fear the Reaper Set 24" x 54" Acrylic on Canvas Driving through Kansas on my way to and from Denver I would occasionally encounter huge combines harvesting the grain from the rolling hills. The images stuck with me and eventually made it to canvas forty years later. After finishing thhe first painting it seemed to be lacking something, context perhaps. I wanted to create more of a sense of being there in the fields where the combines were doing their work. I undertook a second painting intended to compliment the first one and to provide that sense of presence. I hope you find that sense of presence within their combined scope.
