I lived on some property near the airport in Tyler Texas and this pond was on the western edge of the property. It drained into a creek along the west side of the property and into a swampy area to the north. It was full of wildlife, rabbits, raccoons, coyotes, deer, hogs, all variety of birds, including a bald eagle that would appear every now and then.
